Seamore's: My Seafood Craving
Whenever I am in the mood for seafood and I don't want to go far, Seamore's is one of the places that I would go for. I've been here a couple of times and while their seafood are very fresh, some dishes were better than others. Service wise, I had better luck going during lunch compared to dinner.
Overall, if you want seafood and want to try something new, I would recommend going to Seamore's. Some dishes are a more hit than others but you can't go wrong with the tacos. They don't take reservations so depending what time you go will influence the wait time. (I never had to wait, but I usually go during late lunch or early dinner. )

More details:
If I had to pick the dishes I liked the most, it would mostly come from the right side of the menu which consists of tacos and sandwiches.
The Crispy Tacos ($15) are one of my favorites. It contains fried dogfish, guacamole, cabbage and chipotle mayo. I love how light and thin the batter is, so you know you aren't eating just mostly the coating. The guacamole adds creaminess while the chipotle mayo gives it extra flavor since the fish is so mild. A squeeze of lime also adds freshness to it to cut some of the greasiness. Yum!
The Crispy Shrimp and Squid Tacos ($15) were also super delicious. This was a special that day, but they do have Squid Tacos on their regular menu. It was served with preserved lemon, XO salsa and some pickled jalepenos. I wouldn't say they were crispy, but they were delicious regardless. They were very lightly battered and cooked to perfection, so they were still super tender. This dish was more tangy and spicy, but not very heavy. I think the only thing was that this dish had a bit too much liquid so it soaked the tacos up really quickly.
The Spiced Tuna Burger ($17) was something my friend picked and I'm glad she did because it was delicious. The burger comes medium rare, so if you don't like raw this is not for you. We also got it with sweet potato fries (but you can choose greens) and the fries were so good too! They were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. As the for the burger, it comes with cucumber relish and chipotle mayo. The relish adds a freshness to it while the chipotle mayo adds a kick of spice and creaminess to it. There is also a meatiness to the tuna which makes you not miss meat! The burger itself is also huge, so this definitely fills you up.
Avocado Fritters ($9) was something I was hesistant to try, but to my surprise, it was really good, but then again, how does avocado not ever taste good. I didn't know how they were going to come out but they were lightly battered like the dogfish tacos and came with a side of curry aioli. They were crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside. The aioli adds an extra garlicy spicy flavor to it because avocado itself is very mild.
This Oh-Boy Sandwich ($17) made us say Oh Boy! when we saw the size of it. We didn't know how we would get our mouths over this thing! (We ended up eating with a knife and fork haha!) The sandwich comes dressed with a pepper relish and their special sauce. Skate itself is also a mild fish so the dressings are what adds to it. I wouldn't say this is one my favorites only because I don't love the stringy texture of how skate is. It also tastes like a more lean type of fish. It was still good, but not my favorite.
Now on to the dishes that were mediocre for me. This was coming from the first time I came to Seamore's so I had no idea what was good and what wasn't. I was seeing this Poke ($16) dish all over Instagram when Seamore's was still new so I wanted to try it out. I think I fell in for the hype, or maybe I had high expectations. It comes served with peanuts, avocado and blue corn tortilla chips. The tuna was very fresh but my issue with it was that it tasted like it was drenched in sesame oil. Maybe it was only that day, but I wasn't excited for this dish. We also tried the Crispy Squid ($12) which comes with a side of citrus aioli. Like the tacos, they weren't really crispy, but were fresh and super tender. It could be a tad less salty, but overall it was good. I would prefer the tacos more though.
Now on the my least favorite dish. We decided to try The Reel Deal ($23) which is your choice of daily landing, along with your choice of sauce, served with 3 of their daily sides. We chose mackerel along with the harissa cashew dressing. The sides for that day were Chinese broccoli, soba noodles with sesame dressing and a pepper fennel salad. Although it looked great, we didn't enjoy this dish quite as much. The mackerel came super salty, so there was no need for dressing. (The dressing was not quite for us and funny thing was that the citrus aioli was spicier than the harissa cashew.) The vegetable tasted pretty plain, so it wasn't anything special, but I guess the highlight should be seafood.Overall, if you want seafood and want to try something new, I would recommend going to Seamore's. Some dishes are a more hit than others but you can't go wrong with the tacos. They don't take reservations so depending what time you go will influence the wait time. Wow, you've got my mouth watering! Somehow, I hadn't heard about Seamore's before. The Crispy Shrimp and Squid Tacos sound really good; so many places turn squid into rubber. I'm sure we"ll try the Avocado Fritters, too. You're right, anything avocado is fine. Probably won't have the nerve to try medium rare tuna.
